I just finished filling this sketchbook I started on January 1st of this year—not only is that the fastest I think I’ve ever filled a sketchbook, but it’s also the first time I’ve filled one since I really began dealing with depression. So I’m like. Ridiculously proud of myself right now. :D
While I was working on this last page I remembered this critique I once received: I was told that I draw women too much like super heroes.
Cause women are my heroes.
I can just feel a cold creeping up on me so I’m really groggy right now and I’m like
what is costume design
what are colored pencils
i think i just had an epiphany about how lighting works
I’m not terribly happy with the colors or a number of other things on this but that’s okay because WOW I LOVE THE SUMMERWEEN TRICKSTER what a great monster! I was so delighted to read the No Face homage on the wikia cause I totally got that~
I’m just delighted more and more by Gravity Falls, at this rate all my prints at DCC will be from it! ovo
I finally got into gravity falls! So I drew Mabel uvu
wow what a great show and all the characters are so good asdfhLKDJFSK
Working on face shapes/color schemes for some of my mains! ♥
It’s not weird at all! Thank you, it’s really nice to hear from you! ♥
Being super productive tonight! I got thumbnails done for the first 15 pages!! :D
This is 36 of 100 pages in a sketchbook.
Those 36 pages have been filled over the course of the past 16 days.
They are filled with drawings, scribbles, notes, detailed studies and written descriptions.
They were filled purely on my own time and without any outside pressure to fill them. I did not feel obligated or forced or disappointed to work on my sketchbook.
These pages are mostly filled with things related to my comic.
This is the most productive I’ve been on anything so personal and meaningful in several years.
This is how I’m getting my spark back.
More of my art can be seen here.
I’m revisiting the majority of my character designs and ahh I love this little lady she’s so cute uwu
I like the idea— to be a witch, to be an artist, to be a baker… It’s an energy bestowed by the gods or someone, right? Though thanks to it, we do have to suffer at times…
i think this is my favourite ghibli scene ever because it doesn’t only give advice for art blocks, it gives advice for life.
i just laid out a whole bunch of stuff for my comic and i’m so happy because things are flowing so nicely and i’m problem solving and everything is great and yEAH
My autobiography is going to be called: “I love drawing bodies but hate drawing clothes: The eternal struggle.”
I was making covers for some notebooks/sketchbooks and I just kinda let myself get carried away c:
This was the first time in a really long time I was able to let myself get really absorbed in what I was making and trying new things and I’m really happy with it!
Ink and gold paint on brown paper.
I inked a thing today for the first time in forever and I’m so relieved I remembered how to do it.
